Hook & Market: Creating, Learning, and Connecting Through Crochet
Hook & Market is a student-initiated club led by Kylie Athalia (10C) and Etzuko Chenarchgo (10D), bringing together grade 9 -12 students who are interested in learning and exploring the art of crochet. The club welcomes students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to those with advanced crochet experience. Through hands-on sessions, Kylie and Etzuko guide members in learning basic stitches, following patterns, developing techniques, and creating their own crochet projects.
More than just learning a craft, Hook & Market provides a space for students to express creativity, share skills, collaborate, and build confidence. Members are encouraged to experiment with their own ideas and learn from one another in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Through this student-led initiative, Kylie and Etzuko demonstrate how creativity can bring students together while developing practical skills and inspiring entrepreneurship through handmade creations.
