One Fun Day Activity: A Glimpse into the MYP and DP Journey

One Fun Day Activity: A Glimpse into the MYP and DP Journey

On August 8, 2026, Cita Hati Christian School, Pakuwon City Campus, welcomed Grade 6 students for One Fun Day. The event was designed to give them a chance to experience some of the learning they may encounter as they continue their journey at our school.

Rather than sitting through regular lessons, students moved through different activities and got to try the subjects for themselves. In Mathematics, they worked on problem-solving games, while Indonesian and English involved creative activities that encouraged them to communicate and share their ideas. Science gave them the chance to conduct a simple experiment, and Physical and Health Education (PHE) brought plenty of movement through games while also introducing students to nutritious meals. They also explored Art by creating typography, learned more about people and communities through Individuals and Societies, and tried Design activities focused on finding creative solutions to everyday problems. In Robotics, students were introduced to technology through hands-on activities that allowed them to explore how robots work and experiment with simple programming. Through these activities, students were able to experience learning in a more active and enjoyable way.

The day also introduced students to several subjects offered in the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). In Business Management and Economics, students took part in a WTO-style conference and discussed the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, looking at the issue from different perspectives. In Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS), they created their own terrariums while learning about environmental concepts. Music brought a different kind of energy to the event, with performances by our students. Grade 8 and 9 students also joined the session, watching the performances and getting the chance to perform themselves. Throughout the day, students were encouraged to ask questions, work with others, try new things, and enjoy the experience. One Fun Day gave them a glimpse of life at our school beyond the usual classroom setting and allowed them to experience the MYP and DP learning journey firsthand. (Lucia Citra Pertiwi)
